Back to Rulindo again, and I’m noticing that my Moto driver stands slightly back from me when we’re talking, or rather trying to communicate as he doesn’t speak English. He also has gloves, and keeps them on when he hands me the log book to fill in.

We carry out the first set of assessments in a classroom with no less than 8 adults. No one shakes hands today and we laugh as we bump elbows.

In the evening I go to play cards with a group of friends at a bar called Mambo. As always of recent, we chat about coronovirus and things we’ve read and seen. I feel reassured that my family are mainly healthy with no underlying issues.

The coronovirus outbreak is labelled as a pandemic by WHO
